Role<\/strong><\/p>

Healthcare Assistant\u00a0 will support individual users to live as independently as possible within the community and their homes.<\/p>

Principal Activities<\/strong><\/p>

Healthcare Care Assistant supports service users in maintaining their own personal health, social, therapeutic, and domestic care.<\/p>

Areas of support will be as follows:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Personal Care \u2013 supporting the client, with privacy and dignity, to:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

    1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wash his\/her body and hair<\/p>

    2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dress<\/p>

    3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Use the toilet<\/p>

    4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eat and Drink<\/p>

    5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain personal grooming<\/p>

      2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stoma care<\/p>

      3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ointments \u2014 with authorisation letter only (speak to office)<\/p>

      4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Eye drops \u2014 p b with authorisation letter only (speak to office)<\/p>

      5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prompts for medication<\/p>

      6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Care and observation of pressure areas<\/p>

      7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bowel Care<\/p>

      • Therapeutic Care- under the supervision of designated therapists assisting the service user with:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

        1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintenance of mobility<\/p>

        2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintenance of daily living\/functional skills<\/p>

        3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other therapeutic care as agreed<\/p>

        • Domestic Care \u2014 to work with the service user to maintain their physical environment. Tasks may include:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

          • Social care \u2014 supporting the service user to create and maintain relationships and activities within their local community. Tasks involved may include:<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>
